First there's Mass Effect. Yes, it can be entertaining. No, it isn't an RPG. Now Dragon Age, which suffered from either A) a serious lobotomy between Origins and #2, or B) was so rushed through production that they didn't bother making more than a handful of maps.
Rather than dumbing down the RPG for the console market, why not introduce the console market to what a really great RPG is? Take a look at the quality of this game:
1) Inventory system was basically scrapped, with most items given generic names. The Origins system was cluttered, but detailed. Rather than updating that system, they stripped it.
2) Party interactions are arbitrarily limited to houses now. This is not simply inconvenient, but it's an unnecessary step backward for the game. Gifts and such were novel ways to interact with others, and those interactions helped make Dragon Age Origins a standout game.
3) Maps. Good god. In DAO there were hundreds. In Baldur's Gate there were hundreds. All detailed and beautiful. I have an idea for DA2... why not just make 2-3 maps and use them over and over ad nauseum? The only possible excuse for this is rushed development and/or laziness. Period.
4) Character building: If you're going to force us to take one particular character, it had better be interesting. The amount of backstory that is given for Hawke is minimal, and the "hero" of Kirkwall is little more than an errand boy.
5) Quests. Really? Explore Kirkwall for 30 hours? No intrigue (think Baldur's Gate immersion), no illusion that what you're doing couldn't be done by 1000 other people. So many of the quests were poorly detailed by the (also dumbed down) codex system that I didn't really know what I was doing. I just ran the item to the person and got the gold/experience.
This game has some strong points. The menus and leveling system were more streamlined, and would have been awesome had I had them in DAO. The fact that the codex pops up when I get a new entry is nice (and it is far easier to find entries now), but unfortunately it rarely has anything interesting to say. I don't feel involved with the characters at all, as I have to basically take a journey across the map and out of the illusion of the game to have any conversation with them.
I haven't finished yet, but had I known at the outset how badly this would turn out I wouldn't have played at all. If I want a moronic half-RPG, I have lots of options. If I want good story and an immersive experience, I play Bioware. I have purchased every game they made, and I've spent hundreds upon hundreds of hours playing them. Knights of the Old Republic, Baldur's Gate 2, Dragon Age Origins, these are truly epic RPGs. Are those days done for the sake of the console crowd?Is Bioware losing its edge, or just selling out? Dragon Age 2, what have you done?
Since I play BioWare's games mainly for their storylines I thought Dragon Age II was a much better game than Origins. Origins has one of the weakest BioWare stories and I thought it was a bold move making DA2 a low fantasy game with political conflicts. The storyline is much more mature than Origins' save the world plot.

Did Bioware steal the their Dragon Age 2 Qunari from the Inheritance Cycle's Urgal's.?
Now that I played Dragon Age 2 and read the entire Inheritance cycle I can't feel but questioning after the design of the new Qunari. They remind of the Urgal's from Eragon, cause that's how they looked to me when I read. I feel that the regal Urgals remind me of normal Qunari and that the Kull remind me of the Arishok, has anyone else noticed this too? However I think it really is just a coincidence. The Qunari redesign was done to differentiate the appearance of the Kossith from humans and bring them more in line with their darkspawn counterpart the ogre.
Plus the Urgal seem to be more like Tolkien's orc as for the fact that they live in tribal societies and have their culture centered around warfare. Even the Kull seem to resemble the Uruk-hai with the one difference being that the Kull are Urgal whereas the Uruks are half-orcs. The Qunari on the otherhand are a expansive theocracy inspired by what was the real life Ottoman Empire.
But for appearances I can easily see why you might think this. I woudn't get too caught up in it. The physical similarities I would think are just a coincidence and seem to be common fantasy tropes.

BIOWARE/EA account confusion help?
I wanted to put my dragon age sign Edition stuff on my xbox live account. So it said go to the bioware social place,I made a new account with a different email as my xbox live (IF i only knew that it matterd)
I put in the code.Then I check my xbox live account and it says that its already connected to my old ea Account ( that i forgot i had.) I would delete my old ea/bioware account but it still has my old me2 stuff on it.
So what I'm really asking is if there is a way to unregister my new DA2 code so i could put it in my old account linked to my xbox, or to maybe combine the two bioware/ea accounts.just as along as I get all my codes on my xbox accountBIOWARE/EA account confusion help?

Does SWTOR still have problems with its server queues?
I'm thinking of getting this game as I am a big fan of SWTOR and MMORPG's.
However I've heard complaints that to get into a server, there are sometimes 4 hour waits. Now, somebody told me that this was because people kept joining full servers, but even the low population servers soon became full.
Is this still happening or have bioware sorted it out?
Also, how are the quest bugs, which class do they affect the most?

I haven't seen a queue in months, no. Or had quest bugs since a minor problem in the starting area in week 1 that didn't keep me from completing a quest.

How do you get into Mass Effect?
I know this is kind of a weird question, but I'm having trouble getting into it. I loved Dragon Age so I thought this would be perfect for me, but it's difficult to embrace, I don't know where I'd go to get jobs, buy good weapons, I don't even understand where to go to continue the storyline, it's all a bit difficult to comprehend for me. I want to get into it since I love Bioware, but I'm finding it hard. Any thoughts?How do you get into Mass Effect?
It's easier to start with Mass Effect (hereafter known as ME). My friend loved Dragon Age (DA), but couldn't get into ME because of the real time shooting.
The game starts you off on a remote planet. From there, it's very linear. If you're on the citadel, continue reading the quest logs to know where to go next. Get to know the key locations. Visit EVERY transit hub (the transit hubs make travel OH SO MUCH easier). And random wandering does a lot for the lost person. There's also a mini-map in your menu.
When you get back to the citadel, you're supposed to find evidence that Saren was behind the Eden Prime Sabotage. You'll meet the majority of your team there in the Citadel. It's not important to change up who's in your group. If you find one that works (much like DA), then stick with it. I like Garrus for the sniping and Liara for the biotics.

Wouldnt it be sweet if bioware made an RPG along the lines of knights of the old republic, jade empire, or mass effect? Except set in a WWE universe. You could make alliances, stab people in the back, interfere in other peoples matches, and equip different gear to unlock better stats and abilities. I was wondering if there is any way to keep your sister, Bethany, in your party/ team for the whole game. What kind of paint should I use on vinyl?
I am making Miranda Lawson's loyalty outfit from Mass Effect 2 and my vinyl suit jusy came in from China (yay!). It has occurred to me that sewing onto this fabric might not be the best idea, so I was wondering if paint would work, and if so, what kind/brand?
here are some reference images: I'd be painting on the orange lines. the logo and big patches of orange I'll probably use excess fabric and attach it later.

Well to start off I want to be the guy ( i'm not sure what its called) who come up with the idea of the game like what its about. So what schools should I go to in high school what classes should I take things like that to help me get in. Should I work for game sites and if yes than what kind? And if this helps I want to work at somewhere like Bioware.I need help to figure out how to get into the gaming industry?
This probably isn't that much helpful. But I don't think you need a specific position to come up with an idea for a game. Usually, either a producer, project manager, or maybe even a programmer will probably be the ones who are most likely to share.

Character customization is comparable with City of Heroes/Villains (i.e. 100,000s of combinations).
The world is designed exactly like the Carribean, meaning all the islands are in-game and sized accordingly.
British, Spanish, and French players fight over land and sea for control of Ports and resources for Ship Building. During these battles, Pirate Players can attack the weakest link to either sink ships or capture their cargo.

I recently downloaded a direct to download version of Bioware's hit game KOTOR, (Knights of The Old Republic) and I found that the files contained within the game are different then the original, furthermore when I attempted to add an override file it failed to carry over my mods. They had a similar controversy surrounding the possible lesbian sex scene in Mass Effect between the player and an Asari. What bothered me about that game is that, while they had the option to have a female/female relationship and sex scene, there was no option for anything male/male, which seemed like a real cop-out- like the whole double-standard of "lesbians are hot but gay guys are grosssss." It's good to hear that Bioware has listened to this and made a male/male option available to the player.

Buy Mass Effect and rent BioShock. Mass Effect has different classes and things play out differently depending on your choices so it is worth multiple playthroughs. BioShock is great but playing it a second time isn't really different.

I just finished my origins story as a noble human. Now I am at the king's place with Duncan. I dunno, it just hasn't really drawn me in or anything so far... In fact it's been kind of boring. So my question is, how long does it take to "get into it"?

My first reason is probable because I was a huge fan of Mass Effect, and have been waiting for this game for so long, so when it came out I was so excited and so mentally I just overlooked any fault's it had.

Mass Effect 2
Pros: Long story Line. Many Character all with complex back stories. Quest's are involved and party members make comments about their opinion of what is going on. Easy to learn leveling system. Collect Resources seems more like a simple game than bust work like in many other games with a similar system. Good Replay Value. New Game+ (replaying with same character). Lots of well organized plot twist's. Ability to import Mass Effect character. Side quest at times feel like just another part of the story. Great voice acting. Tom from Tunami. Complex romance system that can involve a number of characters. Comic relief. Leaves you wanting more. Cerberus Network. Finding a way to continue from a game that is not very linear, in terms of story line, and set up another sequel. Most games that do not have a set plot do not continue from the previous game, the only other I can think of is KOTOR but the second game didn't have a good plot like this series does. The ending is very ominous. Lot's of DLC, and most of it so far with the exception of 1 is free. Replay Value.
Cons: changes from the first such as ammo, leveling system, exp, diversity of weapons, upgrading weapons (not these probable won't be so bad for someone who is not a huge fan of Mass Effect already). Having to buy ship fuel, it makes sense but it just seems unnecessary. Simple leveling system, that is not as customizable as many other rpgs. Only the N7 armor is customizable, I would have like to have seen a system where when you got new armors (DLC sets), instead of having them be a separate suit entirely, have them add new N7 upgrades that when put together looked like the suit that they do now. They could have added an additional section the armor for under suit, this would change it so any part of the armor which isn't currently customizable would change. The reason this is a problem is because of the way it works I never use DLC armor even though I like the way they look. Linear areas, the game itself is non-linear but the areas aren't they provide little are that is not part of the beaten path. Sex scenes aren't long enough, Look I am not a pervert I do not necessarily want to see the character's naked, it is just that the scene with Liara in the first game was beautiful, you really felt the passion between the two, now they seem just like two people having sex. No Mako, but the firewalker has just been released, and hopefully in the future we will see more it. Multiple layers to the ship, I don't like having to load just to talk to one of my characters, then load to talk to another, then load to change my armor, and then load again just so I can select a planet to land one, which will have to load. Nothing gained by killing enemies.

DLC that is available in multiple games, this is a feature I have never seen before and would to see more of in the future, because I think it is cool to be playing Dragon Age and then switch to Mass Effect and both my character have the same armor (this is not listed as a pro in Mass Effect 2 because although it includes this feature you have to have Dragon Age to implement it). A customizable character with a unique begrudging, again another new feature I have never scene before. Tom from Tunami. Character Conversation are hilarious. Lot's of Armor.
Cons: No free DLC. Boob boss. Apparently people make love with their clothes on, their may be no penetration, but hay that means no pregnancy, oh what there is. Again I am not a pervert I just don't it Practical, I understand they got **** for Mass Effect 1 but honestly that is just because people are idiots, we seen nudity in movies all the time, way more so than in Mass Effect. Hell I just watched The Butterfly Effect (watch directors cut, it is way more moving only movie I have cried in ever) and that included full frontal nudity and it didn't advance the plot at all really (granted I understand why it there), only rated R got no **** for it. I have no space left on my current xbox hard drive so i have purchased a new one but as I play bioware games I would like to put the saved games from the full hard drive onto the new one. Games keep being minimized to taskbar every 15-20 minutes or so. What is the error here?
I got Windows 7 Home Premium. After I installed my latest game, Dragon Age: Origins by Bioware, all of my games seem to get minimized to the taskbar every 15-20 minutes or so. I can restore them when this happens, but it's quite irritating after some time. Maybe some update program bugged a little and keeps popping up, just there's no window? Try checking the processes, maybe you will find something that might be causing this. Maybe google it. It could also be cause of the resolution, maybe the bottom of the game has "fused" to taskbar, so when you click on the bottom, you get down. In this case, try changing resolution

Mass effect 3 bioware miranda?
Why didn't bioware have miranda as a squadmate that's pretty gay cause I had a relasoship with her in ME2Mass effect 3 bioware miranda?
They have only revealed a handful of squadmates so far. Those are Garrus, Liara, Tali, James Vega, Kaidan and Ashley. The developers have also said that squadmates don't work like they did in the previous games and that there isn't necessarilly such a thing as a permanent squadmate. While the ones I listed are main squadmates, they too may be temporary according to Casey Hudson. This leads me to believe there will be other minor temporary squadmates and Miranda could be one of them.

You have the right idea and sound like you are on track. You need to Major in Information Computer Science and attend an established 4 year college. It helps if you minor in some study in relations to game development, like physics, mathematics or art design.

I have been watching some Kung Fu movies, as well as playing lots of Skyrim. The combination has made me want to try out Jade Empire (Yes, I know Bioware didn't develop it). Does the game still hold up well today?

As far as I know it is too late to get the signature edition. You had to order before Jan. 11. But the extra companion will likely be available as DLC the day of release.

I don't know which one I like more..I mean, I love Bioware because you can make so many choices in gameplay, and they have the whole morality thing. But Bethesda just seems more realistic when it comes to RPG. And Bethesda has better graphics. Mass Effect 2 has great graphics too, but..Bioware really isn't about free roam. Sometimes, instead of working my *** off, I just like to explore, meet people, kill them.

Fallout 3 makes you do a painfully boring tutorial on combat, then sets you lose with absolutely no idea what to do. Mass Effect 2 properly marks your missions and features a tighter combat system, and has more believable characters, as well as much better graphics. Fallout also feels very old with awful animation, odd character behaviour and some terrible glitches.Which is better at RPG? Bethesda or Bioware?

As the product details on the page you linked to say, "Please note: Dragon Age 2 Bioware Signature Edition is only available to Preorder until 11th January. The standard edition will still be available." You also should not have had to pay extra for the Signature Edition--it was the standard price.
Some people canceled their Signature Edition, but others lost theirs due to certain retailers not ordering enough. You could try finding something like that online, but it's not likely you'll find it, and otherwise I'm afraid you're not getting the SE. Then again, since you ordered from game.co.uk, you do at least get the get the Lion of Orlais Shield %26amp; Fadeshear sword as bonus items for preordering before March 8th, according to the DA wiki. And you can still buy the Exiled Prince DLC for a pretty low price ($7 in the US; not sure what the price will be in the UK but it can't be much more) if you fancy it.
If it's any consolation, you can get some extra free items: By signing up for the DA2 Newsletter you can get the Hindsight belt and the Staff of Parthalan, which are both really cool. The first has great resistances and the second is tied to Hawke's family line. There will also be three free downloadable tomes, since the fans completed the demo and facebook challenges to unlock them. As the product details on the page you linked to say, "Please note: Dragon Age 2 Bioware Signature Edition is only available to Preorder until 11th January. The standard edition will still be available." You also should not have had to pay extra for the Signature Edition--it was the standard price.
Some people canceled their Signature Edition, but others lost theirs due to certain retailers not ordering enough. You could try finding something like that online, but it's not likely you'll find it, and otherwise I'm afraid you're not getting the SE. Then again, since you ordered from game.co.uk, you do at least get the get the Lion of Orlais Shield %26amp; Fadeshear sword as bonus items for preordering before March 8th, according to the DA wiki. And you can still buy the Exiled Prince DLC for a pretty low price ($7 in the US; not sure what the price will be in the UK but it can't be much more) if you fancy it.
If it's any consolation, you can get some extra free items: By signing up for the DA2 Newsletter you can get the Hindsight belt and the Staff of Parthalan, which are both really cool. The first has great resistances and the second is tied to Hawke's family line. There will also be three free downloadable tomes, since the fans completed the demo and facebook challenges to unlock them. I prefer BioWare over Bethesda. Bioware does a better job of making me care about the storyline, character %26amp; companions (a long with the interaction amongst them all). The things that make a Bethesda games great are largely lost on me. The large world, complexity, tons of side quests, crafting etc. just annoys me. I don't have the patience or attention span to really delve into that aspect of game play. TBioWare or Bethesda,which company do you think makes better games?

That sort-of depends on how you are with games. If you feel as though you absolutely must have it, and the extra price tag isn't a problem, then sure--get it. Here are the benefits and drawbacks of getting a game as soon as it comes out (or just before it comes out).
PROS--You are the first! So you can play it right away and know about the game before the majority of other people have played it. If this is what you like to do, you can impress all your gamer friends with your knowledge of the game, etc. etc. Other than that, if the game IS good, then you have it firsthand--and won't have to wait to get it if you hear from everyone else it's great.
Also, if you haven't anything else to play because you are bored to tears, getting the game will at least give you something to do that is new.
CONS--If you are a more cautions buyer (I'm one of those), you'll wait for the game to be out a few weeks up to a few months. Doing this will give you the advantage of seeing some of its reviews, possibly saving some money (although this takes upwards of 3-4 months for good new games), and saving yourself some major headaches if it ends up being a junk game. In addition, if the game has a ton of bugs (like Fallout: New Vegas), if you wait a month or so before getting it, then you might end up getting a game patched as opposed to those people who got it right when it came out. A patched game is much more playable than a bugged out game. Another rare circumstance that would be a con to preorder is the event that Blizzard goes out of business. If that happens, your pre-order money goes in the toilet.
On a final note: I'd say if you are bored to tears and simply don't have anything else that you find remotely fun to play, get it right away. Otherwise, if you can find any other games to keep you occupied (or other things in life), do that for a couple weeks or a month or 2. Why is Bioware making a Star Wars MMO and not a Knights of the Old Republic 3?
Well they didn't make the second so it wouldn't even be certain that they'd make the third. I believe it's rumored that the third is in development but those are just rumours although Obsidian the developers that made the second said they would like to make KOTOR 3. I think Bioware maybe wanted to try something different and I'm sure Lucasarts was looking into getting back into the MMO space after Galaxies underperformed and so that's why they made an MMO instead. I personally would've preferred Bioware had made the third instead of an MMO.Why is Bioware making a Star Wars MMO and not a Knights of the Old Republic 3?
I played Kotor 2 over 20 times because its a great game. It is a shame that they dont continue the story, the new star wars MMO looks great though. =/

Will Bioware make another Dragon age origins game ?
Just finished playing the game and i must say that this is the best game I've ever played! I heftu find out what happens next!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!鈥?/div> Will Bioware make another Dragon age origins game ?

Well, if you're waiting for them to make a new game, might I suggest the series Mass Effect? ME2 comes out January 26 and it's a great BioWare game to play in the meantime. ;P

Based on a tweet that Bioware is looking to hire on some new people for Dragon Age 3 it is assumed that it is going in to production. But, until there is an official release announcement you can't be sure of anything. Lots of games die early in development, you never know what can happen. i would have to say Thane. He sounds like he could get into alot of trouble in a Mass Effect spin off, in a good way of course. Would be pretty cool to be an galatic assassin fighting the geth/old machines (aka Reapers). But making a game like that would be difficult because the ME games arnt based off of a "Set character" but of a character that you make and give them their own personality, which i am sure you already know. What do you think? I personally think there is a huge gap in the fantasy dominated MMO market for a product like this. KOTOR 1 was a HUGE success achieving 100+ awards.
Although, Bioware did state that they wanted to focus on their own IPs, but now Bioware = Electronic Arts. Nancy MacIntyre also said that Lucas Arts were "..not finished" with the KOTOR series.

i know dude i read that too. hopefully they will make it. and hopefully they will patch up kotor 2 with the missing planets and stuff. i have them but its kinda gay cuz its basically fanmade and u dont see cutscenes and stuff.battlefield 3 multiplayer
