Where do game publishers get most of their money from?

For example, EA publishes Mass Effect, but Bioware makes it. Where do you think EA gets all of it's money to fund these projects, if the game developer (eg. Bioware) makes the game?Where do game publishers get most of their money from?
Sales of games. Even though they don't develop the games, the publisher still gets money from them for publishing it. More money than the developers do actually, iirc. It's an agreement; the publisher handles all the marketing and makes the actual physical discs and packaging, and they get a portion of the sales in return.
