I have really good ideas for some video games but I don't really want to have video game designing become my profession. So is it possible to get into contact with a company like bioware and send them my detailed ideas and pictures to them. I would probably fill a notebook full of info for them to build the game on. So yea do you think they will take it into consideration or am I just wasting my time. Can i give my ideas for a video game to a video game company like bioware?
On most publisher websites they have a "contact us" link. Send them an email with a few drawings and ideas. If they're interested, they'll probably let you into closed betas for free but its unlikely you will be paid. I don't think you're wasting your time if you enjoy doing it. Just don't expect luck with the first email, send out a couple. Can i give my ideas for a video game to a video game company like bioware?
I truly think that you are wasting your time. Bioware will not listen to you, they will listen to their own development team. Become a professional game developer/engineer, then apply to Bioware. If they take you, you will become part of their development team. But you said you don't want to go in video game design, besides, it is unlikely Bioware would be so acceptive.
But yeah, we all have video game ideas. Maybe you generate a lot of positive feedback around the internet, and copyright your information, then you could grow a fanbase. Then you could email Bioware.
But if you just email them now, chances are they won't even take a look at it. It just isn't practical.
Sorry to say, but yeah, you are just wasting your time. Can i give my ideas for a video game to a video game company like bioware?
You know, there are lots of free game-development programs out there... You don't have to make a career out of it, just spend a little of your free time learning how to use it. Game Maker is a good one for beginners, I made multiple short platformers when I was maybe 14 years old, using about 2 hours a day after school. By just taking a little effort learning to use the program, you can make great games, publish them online, maybe even sell them as downloads.
